Small Heath city is a settlement around the south-eastern part of Birmingham in the West Midlands of England. This small settlement lies on Coventry Road, A45.
In Small Heath, there exist two supermarkets, the Morriston and Asda, and an outdoor pursuit Ackers Trust centre. There also exists a form of the business park being home to some major companies. Some of these companies include the previous Birmingham Cable (now called Virgin Media), the Repair Specialist of Kitchen Appliances, and the International Delcam CADCAM company.
By 1973, Small Heath’s city welcomed some of the biggest Birmingham Arms factories by the road of Armoury and Golden Hillock. These factories manufactured several other things like motorcycles, cars (taxi cabs included), bicycles, and guns. For a brief time, Norton Triumph Villiers acquired the factory but it got closed down. Most of the buildings got demolished after the sudden fall of the industry for British motorcycle.
Towards the close of the 1900s, Small Heath witnessed the construction of several terraced houses. And by the following decades, the buildings had become home to many Irish immigrants. About twenty years later, the immigration levels in this area increased due to the second World War. Most of the new immigrants came from the subcontinent of India.
Small Heath lies within the Western Midlands region of England and has a population of about 36,898 residents. The OS grid reference number of Small Heath is SP1085, with a postcode district of B10 and a dialling code of 0121. Like any other area in Birmingham, Small Heath is under the sovereign government of the United Kingdom.
In Small Heath, several green spaces and parks exist – of which it is the largest, Park of Small Heath (previously called Victoria Park), usually held festivals. The football club, Birmingham City, has its home stadium, St. Andrew, located on its land.
