Washwood Heath is a suburban residential area in Birmingham, England between the formal Hodge Hill metropolitan.  Interestingly, the name was coined from 2 different phrases. Washwood was named after a stream along End park ward known as Wash Brook which was later converted to River Thame. This name was generated from the old English “gewaesc” which means a land prone to flood.

The land was used for agricultural cultivation and with agricultural technology advancements coupled with the increase in population, government agencies were drawn to them and Washwood Heath was fastened in 1817.

The ward is governed on Birmingham city council by three counselors namely: Mariam Khan, Ansar Ali Khan, and Muhammed Idris. Interesting places in this city are Adderly pack, Adderly park railway station, Wheels adventure pack now Birmingham adventure pack, Washwood Heath Christadelphians, Fox and Goose, and more.

Among many important expansions that Washwood has witnessed is the establishment of an institution named Heath Comprehensive School which was inaugurated in September 1967. It was later renamed Washwood Heath Technology College when it became a specialist college. As the growth progressed, it was again changed from technology college to Washwood Heath Academy in 2013.

This metropolitan is covered by Ward End and Saltley with the formal on the south-western and the latter on the north-eastern sides respectively, except Nechells and Hodge Hills which are partly under the ward. Their major occupation Is railway attendants owned by Metropolitan-Cammell but closed down in 2005.

the 2001 population census recorded 27,822 people living in the town with 5, 335 density per km² compared with Birmingham of 3,649 people per km². Washwood Heath is an ethnically diverse town.
