These terms apply between PDS Painting Birmingham (βweβ, βusβ) and you, the customer, when you accept a written quote from us for painting and decorating work. They also cover the use of this website. Your written quote and these terms together make up our agreement; if the two ever differ, the written quote for your job takes priority.

Quotes
Every quote we give is written and follows a visit to the property. We do not give fixed prices over the phone, because the condition of a surface up close often changes how much preparation it needs.
Your written quote sets out the scope of the job: the rooms or surfaces included, the preparation we will carry out, the products and the finish. It also states the price. Anything not listed in the quote is not included unless we agree it with you separately.
Sometimes a problem only shows once work starts - for example, a damaged wall surface behind old wallpaper or rot under painted timber. If that happens, we will tell you and agree any extra work with you before doing anything that would change the price.
Deposits and Payment
The payment terms for your job are set out in your written quote. That includes whether any payment is due before work starts, whether larger jobs are paid in stages, when the balance is due and how you can pay.
We will not ask you for any payment that is not set out in your quote or agreed with you in writing.
Changes to the Work
If you want to add to the job, change a colour or alter the finish once work is under way, we will agree the change with you before we do it. Any change that affects the price or the timing is confirmed in writing first, so you always know where you stand.
Your Part: Access, Furniture and Preparation
To keep the job running smoothly, we ask you to:
- Give us access to the property and the areas being worked on at the agreed times.
- Let us use electricity and running water while we work.
- Tell us about any parking restrictions or access issues before the start date.
- Put away valuables, ornaments and anything fragile from the rooms we are working in.
- Keep children and pets away from work areas while we are there.
We cover floors and furniture before we start and leave the work area tidy at the end of each day. If heavy items need moving, we will agree who moves what when we quote.
Cancelling or Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or move a booking, please tell us as soon as you can by phone, so we can rearrange the work.
If you are a consumer and you agree the contract with us away from business premises - for example at your home after our visit - or by phone, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, simply tell us clearly by phone or in writing within that period. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you may have to pay for the work carried out up to the point you told us.
Our Responsibilities and Your Statutory Rights
We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires, and do what we have agreed in your written quote. If something we have done does not meet that standard, the law gives you the right to ask us to put it right, and in some cases to a price reduction.
PDS Painting Birmingham is insured, and policy details are available on request. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
If Something Isnβt Right
Before we leave, please look over the finished work and point out anything you are not happy with while we are still on site. It is far easier to deal with then.
If you notice a problem later, please contact us by phone with a description of the problem, so we can look into it.
Commercial Customers
Business customers may be quoted on different terms - for example payment terms, out-of-hours working or site-specific safety paperwork. Where that applies, those terms are set out in the written quote for the job.
